QSSR-INVESTMENT ANALYST
- Conduct investment research and analyse the financial performance, growth prospects, profitability, and risks of Defence companies, industries, and investment portfolios.
- Analyse investment opportunities, market trends, industry developments, and business performance relevant to Defence investments.
- Review financial models and provide evidence-based investment analysis and recommendations.
- Monitor investment performance against approved objectives, financial plans, expected returns, and strategic priorities.
- Identify areas requiring improvement and recommend measures to enhance the financial and operational performance of Defence investments.
- Conduct research on Defence industries and provide strategic advice on productivity, competitiveness, sustainability, profitability, and growth.
- Assess opportunities for diversification, expansion, partnerships, business development, and other initiatives to enhance Defence-related investments.
- Provide analytical support to the DG DISS on strategic decisions concerning Defence industries, companies, and investments.
- Identify opportunities to improve business performance, operational efficiency, and long-term value creation.
- Contribute to the development and review of policies, strategies, and frameworks governing Defence industries, companies, and investments.
- Assess existing investment policies and strategies and recommend improvements aligned with MoD priorities and broader national economic objectives.
- Conduct research and provide recommendations to strengthen the governance, sustainability, productivity, and performance of Defence investments.
- Identify and assess financial, operational, market, regulatory, strategic, and other risks associated with Defence investments.
- Assess the financial implications and potential risks of major investment decisions, business initiatives, and strategic projects.
- Recommend appropriate risk mitigation and management measures and monitor their implementation.
- Provide timely alerts and recommendations to the DG DISS on significant investment risks and emerging exposures.
- Prepare investment analysis reports, business reviews, financial analyses, strategic briefs, and recommendations for consideration by the DG DISS and other authorised decision-makers.
- Present investment findings, performance analysis, risks, opportunities, and recommendations to relevant decision-makers.
- Monitor and report on the implementation and performance of approved investment decisions, strategies, and initiatives.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and accessible investment information, records, and analytical data.
- Monitor Defence investments and companies for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, agreements, governance frameworks, and institutional requirements.
- Identify potential compliance and governance risks and recommend appropriate corrective or preventive measures.
- Provide analytical support on governance and regulatory matters relevant to investment activities.
- Promote sound governance, transparency, accountability, responsible investment management, and effective oversight of Defence investments.
- Coordinate with relevant MoD departments, Defence companies, industries, government institutions, investors, and other authorised stakeholders on investment and business development matters.
- Facilitate the collection, validation, and analysis of investment and business information required for effective decision-making.
- Perform any other investment-related duties assigned by the DG DISS.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Investment Management, Business Management, Project Management, Engineering, Law, or another relevant field.
- Professional qualification in finance, investment, accounting, economics, or a related field is recommended.
- Where applicable, completion of Senior Military Courses is required or considered an added advantage, as applicable.
- Minimum of 4 years' professional experience in investment analysis, finance, economics, project management, business management, engineering, law, or a related field.
- Experience in investment research, financial analysis, business development, strategic planning, or investment management.
- Experience in financial modelling, investment risk assessment, and preparation of investment recommendations.
- Experience working with companies, industries, investment portfolios, or large-scale projects is an added advantage.
- Experience in Defence industries, public-sector investments, or government-related enterprises is an added advantage.
