Summary
The Data Quality Analyst is responsible for ensuring that all data products delivered on the Microsoft Fabric platform are accurate, reliable, and fully aligned with business objectives defined through the Goal–Question–Metrics (GQM) model. This role validates data quality across the Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, and Gold) by applying CAE’s Data Platform Coding Framework to perform end-to-end testing of data acquisition flows. It also ensures that data products comply with governance standards through Microsoft Purview, including the evaluation of metadata, lineage, and data security controls.
Acting as a key bridge between business and technical teams, the Data Quality Analyst manages defects, verifies performance and data integrity, and drives continuous improvement to ensure that analytics outputs are trusted, auditable, and enable effective data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Ensure data products align with business goals (GQM) and are fully traceable from source to Power BI.
Validate data quality across bronze, silver, and gold layers, and confirm Fabric data products are complete, reliable, and production ready.
Test Power BI reports end-to-end to ensure accurate visuals and metrics.
Enforce governance standards using Purview, including metadata, lineage and quality scoring.
Develop and execute test plans, validate performance and refresh reliability, and manage defects by working with teams to identify root causes.
Continuously provide quality insights to improve data reliability and strengthen trust in analytics.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of experience in data QA, data validation, or analytics testing
Experience with Python, SQL is a requirement
Experience with software development lifecycle management (eg: Git and version control).
Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts (Medallion architecture)
Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure.
Hands-on experience with Power BI (validation/testing perspective)
Familiarity with data governance concepts
Technical Skills
Python, SQL and data validation techniques
Data quality frameworks (accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness)
ETL/ELT pipeline validation
Power BI testing and data reconciliation
Testing methodologies (functional, integration, regression)
Nice-to-Have
Experience with Goal–Question–Metrics (GQM) methodology
Exposure to data mesh / data product approach
Familiarity with Microsoft Purview governance capabilities
Experience in regulated environments (e.g., defense, aviation, public sector)
