Quantity Surveyor in Projects in the railway sector (m/w/d)

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor (Projects) to join our project team and support the successful delivery of complex infrastructure and railway signaling projects. In this role, you will proactively identify commercial opportunities, manage variations and additional services, and ensure contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
As a key member of the project team, you will work closely with Project Management, Contract Management, and other stakeholders to maximize project value and support successful commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze contractual agreements and identify deviations from the agreed scope of work.
Support project teams in the identification, documentation, pricing, and billing of additional services and contract variations.
Prepare detailed, accurate, and commercially sound offers for additional work.
Proactively identify opportunities for claims, variations, and commercial optimization.
Monitor project execution to ensure all changes and additional services are properly documented and contractually justified.
Collaborate closely with Contract Managers, Project Managers, and other internal stakeholders.
Support commercial negotiations related to variations, claims, and additional services.
Promote contractual awareness and commercial understanding within project teams.
Contribute to risk identification and mitigation from a contractual and commercial perspective.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Several years of professional experience in large-scale infrastructure, transportation, railway, or engineering projects.
Demonstrated experience managing contractual matters, project changes, and commercial risks.
Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken.
Experience with project financing models.
Familiarity with FIDIC or other international contract frameworks.
Experience in coaching, mentoring, or developing project team members.
Additional language skills are considered an advantage.

Other Details
This position is offered on a freelance/contract basis.
The role provides a high degree of flexibility, with 80-90% remote work.
Occasional business travel to Braunschweig (Germany) and Copenhagen (Denmark) will be required to support project activities and stakeholder engagement.
