THE ROLE: We are currently seeking a motivated individual for a Regional Sales Manager position serving the West Coast of the USA. The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for driving sales growth and increasing market share within an assigned territory for a manufacturer of valves serving the municipal water and wastewater market. This role owns regional sales strategy execution and manages a network of independent manufacturer’s representative firms. The RSM works closely with consulting engineers, municipal end users, internal application engineering, and inside sales to influence specifications, develop project opportunities, and deliver profitable growth aligned with company pricing and margin objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own and execute the regional sales strategy to achieve revenue, market share, and gross margin objectives.
- Manage, coach, and develop a network of manufacturer’s representative firms; set expectations, track performance, and provide ongoing training and support.
- Influence project and master specifications by calling on consulting engineering firms, municipalities, and utilities.
- Lead and support product presentations, lunch-and-learns, and technical training sessions for engineers, reps, and end users.
- Provide front-line application engineering and product selection support in coordination with internal engineering resources.
- Identify, qualify, and manage sales opportunities from specification through award.
- Collaborate with inside sales to develop competitive project quotations that align with regional sales goals, pricing strategy, and gross margin targets.
- Maintain accurate opportunity management, forecasts, and activity tracking in Salesforce.
- Develop strong relationships with key regional stakeholders, including engineers, municipal decision-makers, contractors, and distributors.
- Monitor competitive activity and market trends within the region and provide actionable feedback to management.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows as required.
