Relationship Manager - Secured Direct
This role involves managing and developing a portfolio of secured direct lending relationships, focusing on client acquisition, retention, and growth within the secured finance sector.
Job Responsibilities:**
* Proactively identify, originate, and onboard new secured direct lending clients, meeting and exceeding individual and team sales targets.
* Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing clients, understanding their financial needs and providing tailored secured financing solutions.
* Conduct thorough financial analysis and due diligence on prospective and existing clients to assess creditworthiness and identify potential risks.
* Prepare comprehensive credit proposals and presentations for internal credit committees, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
* Negotiate terms and conditions of secured direct lending facilities, including interest rates, collateral requirements, and covenants.
* Monitor portfolio performance, identify early warning signs of credit deterioration, and implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
* Collaborate effectively with internal departments, including credit, legal, operations, and product teams, to ensure seamless client service and deal execution.
* Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities within the secured finance landscape.
* Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to enhance brand visibility and generate new business leads.
* Ensure full compliance with all relevant internal policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements.
Job Qualifications:**
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. MBA or CFA designation is a plus.
* Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in relationship management, business development, or credit analysis within the secured lending or commercial banking sector.
* Demonstrated track record of successfully originating and managing secured direct lending facilities (e.g., asset-backed loans, real estate finance, invoice finance).
* Strong understanding of credit risk assessment principles, financial modeling, and legal documentation pertaining to secured transactions.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
* Proficiency in financial software and CRM systems.
* Strong analytical skills with an ability to interpret complex financial data and make sound lending decisions.
