Rig Manager

MENA-BIG is a Spanish company specialized in Recruitment Services, Human Resource Consultancy, Administration Management, International Business Development, and Strategic Consultancy, with offices in Europe, the Middle East, and the Gulf Region.

We are seeking an experienced Rig Manager to oversee the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations of one of our clients projects based in Saudi Arabia. We are specifically looking for experienced Algerian drilling professionals ready to relocate and work in KSA.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Performance

• Oversee drilling, workover and maintenance operations.
• Ensure compliance with budget, schedule, technical and safety requirements.
• Monitor daily performance and optimize drilling efficiency.

HSE Compliance

• Enforce HSE policies, procedures and industry standards.
• Lead safety meetings, risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Ensure PPE, environmental and emergency procedures are followed.

Crew Management

• Supervise rig crews, contractors and service providers.
• Manage staffing, shifts, performance and training.
• Promote productivity and safe working practices.

Equipment & Maintenance

• Oversee rig equipment inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Coordinate maintenance activities and resolve equipment issues.

Communication & Reporting

• Coordinate between the rig, management, engineers and contractors.
• Provide daily operational and performance reports.

Skills

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in drilling operations, with at least 3 years in a rig management role.
• Strong background in land or offshore drilling operations.
• Experience working with different rig types (jack-up, semi-submersible, land rigs, deepwater, etc.).
• Saudi Arabia or GCC experience strongly preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of drilling programs, well control, and rig maintenance.
• Expertise in HSE protocols, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
• Ability to lead, train, and motivate teams in high-risk environments.
• Effective problem-solving, decision-making, and crisis management skills.

Certifications (Preferred)

• IWCF or IADC Well Control Certification
• H2S Awareness & Safety Certification
• BOSIET/HUET Certification (for offshore operations)
• NEBOSH or OSHA Safety Certification
• First Aid & Firefighting Training
