Risk Manager
Job Purpose:
The Risk Manager is responsible for identifying,
assessing, and mitigating potential risks that could impact the Company's operations, financial performance, or reputation. This role ensures that effective risk
management frameworks and controls are in place in alignment with company
strategy and regulatory requirements, particularly within the Fin-tech and
Microfinance sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement
comprehensive risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures covering
financial, operational, and compliance risks.
- Identify, assess, and
prioritize potential risks affecting the Company's business units and strategic
initiatives.
- Establish risk appetite and
tolerance levels in alignment with the company’s objectives and regulatory
standards.
- Conduct regular risk
assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize exposure.
- Provide risk analysis
reports and recommendations to the CEO and senior leadership.
- Monitor emerging risks
within the Fin-tech, Microfinance, and Banking sectors and proactively suggest
control improvements.
- Coordinate with internal
departments to ensure risk controls are integrated into business processes.
- Lead the preparation of
risk-related documentation and ensure compliance with relevant laws,
regulations, and internal audit requirements.
- Support business continuity
planning, crisis management, and recovery strategies.
- Collaborate with external auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders
as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in
Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- Master’s or professional
certifications such as FRM, CFA, or CERA are preferred.
- 7 to 10 years of experience
in Risk Management, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Proven experience in the
Fin-tech, Microfinance, or Banking industry.
- Strong understanding of
regulatory frameworks and risk governance principles.
- Demonstrated ability to
develop and implement risk management systems.
- Excellent analytical,
communication, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and strong business acumen.
