The Sales Strategist is a strategic, revenue-focused, client-facing role responsible for driving incremental growth across priority solutions, verticals, or strategic initiatives. This individual partners with frontline sales teams as a subject-matter expert and growth catalyst—providing strategy, enablement, deal support, and executive alignment to accelerate complex sales opportunities.
Unlike quota-carrying account executives, the Sales Strategist operates horizontally across regions or segments, influencing pipeline development, shaping large pursuits, and ensuring go-to-market consistency.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Strategy & Complex Pursuit Support
- Match solution-set with opportunity needs to drive credibility and wins via presenting strategy and the solution with sales team, serving as the SME.
- Engage in high-value, complex, or at-risk opportunities to shape deal strategy.
- Lead value positioning, competitive differentiation, and executive messaging.
- Support pricing strategy, packaging, and commercial structuring in partnership with Finance.
Strategic Revenue Acceleration
- Develop and execute overlay sales strategies aligned to corporate growth priorities.
- Drive incremental revenue across targeted solutions, industries, or strategic initiatives.
- Partner with Sales Leadership to align overlay focus with revenue targets.
Sales Enablement & Field Activation
- Equip frontline sellers with messaging, playbooks, and positioning tools in partnership with creative/marketing.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to elevate sales effectiveness.
- Share best practices across the organization to ensure scalable success.
- Act as a bridge between Product, Marketing, and Sales teams.
Executive & Cross-Functional Alignment
- Partner with Product to influence roadmap based on market feedback.
- Collaborate with Marketing on targeted campaigns and thought leadership.
- Present strategy updates and performance insights to senior leadership.
- Represent the organization in client-facing executive conversations.
