Sales Support Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
- Order Entry & Management
- Enter and process customer purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure all order details are correct and comply with internal guidelines and customer requirements.
- Work closely with operations and logistics to monitor order status and shipping timelines.
- Account Management Support
- Serve as a point of contact for key accounts to assist with questions, issues, or updates related to orders.
- Track order progress, proactively notifying customers and sales leadership of any issues or changes.
- Communication of Changes or Delays
- Promptly communicate out-of-stock items, substitutions, shipping delays, or other fulfillment issues to customers and sales directors.
- Proactively request extensions on Purchase Orders as needed, maintaining a professional and solution-focused tone.
- Sales Team Collaboration
- Partner with National Sales Directors to support daily administrative needs and help drive sales initiatives.
- Prepare order summaries, status updates, and issue logs for regular sales check-ins or account meetings.
- Customer Service
- Follow up with customers on post-order inquiries, backorders, and order changes.
- Help ensure a positive customer experience through attentive, timely, and professional support.
- Develop a strong working knowledge base for the entire range of Ampersand Brands products.
- Process Improvement
- Identify and suggest improvements to processes that enhance order accuracy, reduce errors, or improve customer experience.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years in sales support, customer service, or order entry role (experience in wholesale, consumer goods, or similar industry is a plus).
- Strong working knowledge of order entry systems (e.g., NetSuite, Sage, MarketTime, Faire Marketplace, TrueCommerce, QuickBooks, or other ERP/CRM platforms).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with great attention to detail.
- Able to manage multiple priorities with professionalism and a sense of urgency.
- Collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Experience working with national accounts or supporting remote sales teams.
- Familiarity with wholesale order forms, purchase orders, and retail compliance standards.
- Knowledge of lead times, inventory management, and logistics tracking.
