Security Guard (Weekends) - London

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Conducting preventative interior and exterior patrols of the client property
• Greeting members of the public who enter the building, and direct them to the appropriate agents / locations based on their travelling needs
• Communicate with station staff and police during your shift as appropriate
• Provide traffic control in the lane way directly outside the station, ensuring a smooth flow of traffic, especially during times of congestion
• Ensure that members of the community who are not using the train system are encouraged to move on, and not remain on the property
• Ensure 911 is contacted for emergency situations, and provide leadership to all emergency personnel
• Respond to calls for assistance from station staff
• Complete all daily shift reports and incident reports as required
• Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor

• *MUST* Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• *MUST* Valid WSIB accredited First Aid and CPR certificate
  
• Have the ability to remain vigilant in a fast-paced environment
• Be able to work independently, as well as in a team setting
• Must be able to act calmly and efficiently during emergency situations
  
• Ability to stand/sit/walk for long periods of time
• Ability to complete frequent patrols
  
• The ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service to the client is essential

• Hourly Rate of Pay: $18.95
• Hours of work: Saturday - Sunday 1330 - 2130
• Locations: 205 York Street, London, Ontario
