Position Title: Security Officer I

Department: Security

Employment Status: Third Shift, Part-Time, Non-Exempt

Location: 320 Market Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101

Position Summary

The Security Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment at assigned properties through patrols, observation, customer service, and incident reporting. This position serves as a visible presence and responds appropriately to security, safety, and property-related concerns.

Duties and Responsibilities

50% - Patrols & Monitoring

• Conduct interior and exterior patrols of properties
• Observe and report suspicious activity, unsafe conditions, and property damage
• Monitor assigned properties

20% - Customer Service

• Assist tenants, visitors, and vendors
• Address safety concerns

20% - Communication

• Complete incident reports and daily activity logs
• Communicate important information to coworkers and supervisors

10% - Emergency Response

• Respond to emergencies following established procedures
• Contact emergency services when required

Job duties may change from time to time to meet the operational needs of the department and organization.

Required Skills & Abilities

• Strong communication and observation skills
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
• Reliable attendance and transportation
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and basic computer skills

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, pull, climb stairs, and perform physical job duties throughout a scheduled shift
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to remain alert, attentive, and responsive throughout the entire overnight shift (ex. 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM)
