Security Officer - Full Time & Part Time
Primary Location: Colorado Springs, CO, Fountain, CO
Some sites are not accessible by public transportation due to location and/or shift
Wage Range: $17.00-$18.00/HR
Available Schedules:
- Sat & Sun: 8AM - 8PM (Fountain)
- Sat & Sun: 8AM-4PM (Fountain)
- Sat-Wed: 4PM-12AM (Fountain)
- Sun - Wed: 6PM - 4AM (Old Colorado City)
- Mon-Fri: 6AM-2PM (Garden of the Gods $16.10/HR)
The Security Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including access control and patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for our client sites pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area.

What You Can Expect:
- Report alarms in accordance with client requirements, and monitor cameras.
- Greet vendors, drivers, residents, client employee’s, client, and aid as needed.
- Conduct internal or external foot patrol when needed to check for unsafe conditions, hazards, security violations, blocked ingress and egress, mechanical problems, unauthorized persons, inspects grounds using appropriate equipment and protective gear.
- Monitor entrance/exits and provide guidance to site visitors, and/or vendors.
- Complete daily activity (DAR), incident reports and logs via Securitas and client systems.
- Provide an atmosphere in which all customers, client employees, site visitors, client, and Management know their needs are being met.
- Present a good image to client, public, and Management.
- Operates in a calm manner and directs persons who cause disruption to leave property.
- Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations; sets up barriers and signage, and provides direction or information to others.
- Observes and reports incidents or suspicious activity to client, Company Management, or public safety authorities as appropriate for the circumstances and/or as required by the site.
- Acts to ensure that all property removal is conducted within appropriate policy requirements and in accord with client standards.
- Carries out specific tasks and duties of similar nature and scope as required for assigned site.
Basic Requirements:
- 18 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be able to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
- Must have great attention to detail and remain vigilant throughout shift.
- Must have a professional demeanor.
- Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgment and use appropriate escalation.
- All candidates must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
- Long periods of sitting or standing required.
- Appropriate I9 Identifications for I9 processing
- Willingness to travel 25-30 miles to and from work.
- Understands the nature of customer service and interactions with the public.
- Must have Day or Grave shift availability.
- Must be reliable, accountable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic.
- Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills a plus.
- Must be able to interact with and greet site visitors, residents, client employees, or client in a positive manner, while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Intermediate computer/technology skills needed to ensure completion of daily activity reports, and logs via handheld devices, and ability to report alarms via telephone.
- Must have excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills to assist vendors, public, client, Site Supervisors, and Office Management.
- Must be open to communication and feedback from client, Site Supervisor and/or Office Management.
- Must be able to adhere to 15 minute, and lunch breaks.
- Must be able to work in a team environment to ensure site/organizational goals are achieved daily.
- Must be able to remain organized and professional.
- Must be able to learn and adhere to security operations.
- Must provide high quality customer service in-person, via radio, and over the telephone.
- Must be able to obtain Colorado Springs Guard Card license ($117.00) upon completion of new hire orientation and maintain it every year.
- Must be able to attend in-person interview, and in-person orientation in Colorado Springs if hired.
