Job description
- Keeps the General Manager informed of all security-related matters. Depending on distribution of fire and security responsibility, coordinates with the Director of Engineering in this matter.
- Liaises with management personnel and all employees and assists with security problems and loss control.
- Liaises with local law enforcement and fire and safety officials.
- Maintains proper grooming at all times.
- Attends training classes as per schedule.
- Shows fullest cooperation and respect within the team and other departments.
- Is aware of the daily activities and has product knowledge of all the hotel facilities.
- Trains security employees in all resort regulations and all factors affecting the operations of the resort, including fire prevention and safety procedures, basic firefighting, lifesaving techniques, preservation of crime scenes and evidence, actions, duties and powers where crime is detected, action in crisis situations, report writing, public relations, and psychology.
- Supervises the daily processing and distribution of security reports to management.
- Keeps all records and reports concerning security matters and resort businesses confidential.
- Is fully trained and prepared for all emergency situations as per procedures.
- Evaluates on a continuing basis the possible threats to security.
- In close coordination with the engineering department, conducts regular preventive maintenance of all safety equipment.
- Supervises that all employees log in with the proximity card reader located at the security post at the staff entrance.
- Strictly controls entry and exit at the back-of-the-house for contractors, visitors, and suppliers. Visitor passes are issued and controlled.
- Frequently controls and supervises all security posts, including the CCTV room.
- Ensures all staff is thoroughly familiar with the resort’s emergency procedures and in a state of preparedness for any emergency which may occur.
- Executes regular technical skills training.
- Reviews Duty Manager and Night Manager books daily and takes corrective action when security is concerned.
- Reviews security logbook daily and takes action if needed; informs Safety and Security Manager.
- Maintains a monthly overview of vacation and public holiday balance of all security staff.
- Is familiar with all related company documentation and especially with the relevant Operational Standards Manual for his or her field of responsibility.
- Keeps updating the emergency manual with appropriate procedures and forms in consultation with the Security Manager.
- Trains existing employees and newcomers on a regular basis with live fire drills.
- Conducts skills and technical training within his or her area of responsibility on a regular basis.
