Senior Backend Developer
You will design and implement strategic features for Wyden’s core product and quantitative trading strategies, including low-latency order management, execution algorithms, smart order routing, event handling, and business services. You will engineer distributed systems in cloud environments, collaborate with stakeholders and customers, and apply secure, current industry practices.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement future product releases and infrastructure components
- Implement low-latency order management, execution algorithms, smart order routing, event handling, and business services
- Collaborate with product management, development teams, the head of development, and customers
- Engineer distributed systems and run services in cloud environments
- Follow industry trends and incorporate best practices
- Apply security, authentication, and authorization mechanisms
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or computer science, or equivalent practical experience
- High proficiency in Java or Kotlin
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes container orchestration
- Experience with monitoring and observability tooling
- Experience with CI/CD and process automation
- Understanding of networking concepts
- Experience with integration testing in the cloud
- Experience with messaging systems
- Experience with distributed caching
- Reactive programming skills
- Performance testing experience
- Clean coding and test automation experience
- Understanding of Agile values, continuous improvement, and iterative development
