Senior Business Analyst - Contract

Salary: $115.00 - $125.00 p.h.

The Company
Our client is a well-established New Zealand organisation that has recently completed a Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementation across its operations. Following go-live, the business is focused on stabilisation, optimisation, and improving system performance while reducing reliance on external consulting partners.

As part of this journey, they are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to help bring structure, clarity, and prioritisation to post-implementation initiatives.

The Role
This is a hands-on Senior Business Analyst contract where you will work closely with the internal D365 team, business stakeholders, and executive leadership to identify issues, capture requirements, and document improvements in a way that enables efficient delivery.

The environment is currently managing a range of system challenges, process gaps, defects, and enhancement opportunities following a major D365 implementation. Your role will be to translate business needs into clearly defined requirements and actionable work packages, allowing the internal team to resolve issues wherever possible before engaging external vendors.

Key responsibilities include:

• Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders to identify pain points, defects, and enhancement opportunities.
• Capture, analyse, and document current-state and future-state business processes.
• Produce high-quality business requirements, user stories, process maps, and functional documentation.
• Prioritise initiatives alongside business leaders and technology stakeholders.
• Create clear and actionable work packages for the D365 team and third-party partners.
• Assist with triage and root-cause analysis of post-implementation issues.
• Support testing, validation, and business readiness activities.
• Help drive a pragmatic approach focused on maximising internal capability and reducing external consulting dependency.

Your Profile
To be successful in this role, you will be a seasoned Senior Business Analyst with strong experience delivering Microsoft Dynamics 365 projects and post-implementation optimisation initiatives.

You will have the ability to quickly understand complex business processes, engage confidently with senior stakeholders, and produce documentation that leaves little room for interpretation.

Key requirements include:

• Extensive Business Analysis experience within enterprise environments.
• Proven experience working on Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementations or optimisation programmes.
• Experience capturing, documenting, and prioritising business and functional requirements.
• Strong process mapping and documentation skills.
• Ability to work closely with technical teams while communicating effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working in post-go-live stabilisation, transformation, or continuous improvement environments.
• Exposure to Annata is highly advantageous.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including experience working with senior executives and finance leaders.
