Senior Cloud Platform Engineer
You will own AWS architecture, infrastructure as code, DevOps automation, observability, application deployments, customer migrations, and operational documentation. You will define infrastructure standards, build reusable Terraform modules and deployment pipelines, lead migrations, manage reliability and compliance, and technically lead a junior SRE.
Responsibilities
- Own AWS architecture for customer environments
- Design VPC, EKS, Aurora/RDS, IAM, VPN, PrivateLink, Transit Gateway, and Direct Connect infrastructure
- Lead infrastructure reviews with the CTO
- Identify and address infrastructure risks
- Manage AWS costs and architecture optimizations
- Design, write, test, and maintain Terraform and Terragrunt modules
- Design and own infrastructure and application CI/CD pipelines
- Automate deployment, validation, and rollback processes
- Define DevOps standards and deployment controls
- Eliminate manual operational steps through scripting and automation
- Own the observability stack and reusable monitoring templates
- Define SLOs and SLAs and build actionable alerting
- Build health dashboards, SLA metrics, incident summaries, and capacity reporting
- Own application deployments, infrastructure upgrades, and configuration changes
- Create deployment runbooks and validation checklists
- Coordinate release handovers with Engineering and the Head of Run
- Lead customer migrations from Everyware to the NG platform
- Build migration infrastructure, tooling, validation frameworks, and cutover runbooks
- Manage migration risk and rollback capability
- Recruit, onboard, and technically lead a junior SRE
- Set technical standards and build team independence
- Support infrastructure engineers and document operational knowledge
- Own infrastructure documentation and contribute to ISO 27001 and SOC 2 evidence
Requirements
- Production-depth AWS expertise across EKS, Aurora/RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudWatch, Route 53, VPN, and PrivateLink
- Senior-level Terraform and Terragrunt experience
- Experience designing and owning GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, and AWS CodePipeline pipelines
- Deep Kubernetes and EKS operations experience
- Strong Python, Bash, or equivalent scripting and automation skills
- Experience owning CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and observability stacks
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Professional AWS certification is strongly preferred
- SaaS or multi-tenant platform experience
- Financial services or regulated industry experience
- Platform migration experience
- AWS networking experience with Direct Connect and Transit Gateway
- Experience mentoring or technically leading junior engineers
- Production Aurora/RDS database operations experience
- DevSecOps experience with security scanning, compliance automation, secrets management, and infrastructure hardening
