This isn't a "keep the lights on" contract.
It's an opportunity for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to step into a business at a pivotal point, help establish the foundations of a modern data platform, and leave behind capability that will influence strategic decision-making for years to come.
We're looking for someone who moves seamlessly from architecture to insight, from engineering to influence - someone who enjoys building data environments that drive real business outcomes and is comfortable partnering with senior stakeholders as naturally as they work with technology.
The Opportunity
Over the next 12 months, you'll be an integral part of the development of a modern, fit-for-purpose data platform that enables smarter, faster and more confident decision-making across the organisation.
Starting from a relatively low level of maturity, you'll have the opportunity to shape the direction of the platform from day one. Rather than inheriting someone else's architecture, you'll help determine the early stages of the build, why it matters, and how it evolves into a scalable, future-ready environment.
This is a hands-on contract where you'll deliver tangible outcomes while helping establish the foundations for long-term success.
What you'll be doing
You'll be part of a team designing and building robust end-to-end data pipelines, bringing together multiple data sources into a trusted, reliable platform.
You'll establish scalable orchestration, data governance and security practices while ensuring information is accurate, accessible and genuinely useful to the people making business decisions.
Working closely with senior leaders and business stakeholders, you'll translate complex technical concepts into practical insights, helping turn data into better operational and strategic decisions.
You'll also introduce modern engineering practices, improve data quality, create meaningful visualisations, and implement predictive analytics where appropriate.

What you'll bring
You'll have proven experience designing and delivering enterprise data platforms, with strong expertise across data engineering, ETL/ELT, analytics and visualisation.
You'll be comfortable building production-ready pipelines, implementing orchestration, establishing governance standards and working across modern Microsoft technologies. Experience with Fabric, OneLake or similar cloud data platforms will be highly regarded.
Equally important is your ability to engage with stakeholders, understand business priorities and convert technical capability into practical commercial outcomes.
