Senior Data Modeler / Data Architect - Contract

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design conceptual, logical and physical data models
• Develop standardised and consumption-layer data structures
• Create dimensional models, including star schemas
• Define how data should be structured, standardised and surfaced for analytics and downstream use
• Design data flows and integration patterns
• Apply practical data architecture principles across a modern cloud data platform
• Work closely with Data Engineers to ensure designs are understood and implemented effectively
• Produce clear modelling, diagrams and architecture artefacts
• Support data quality, metadata, lineage and governance requirements within solution designs
• Help establish consistent modelling standards and reusable patterns across the platform

You’ll ideally bring:

• Strong hands-on experience in data modelling
• Experience designing conceptual, logical and physical models
• Strong dimensional modelling capability, including star schemas
• Experience with modern cloud data platforms
• Good understanding of Databricks and lakehouse architecture
• Experience with Bronze / Silver / Gold or similar layered data architectures
• Strong understanding of data integration and data flows
• Experience working directly with Data Engineers and taking designs through to implementation
• A pragmatic, delivery-focused approach to architecture
• Strong communication and documentation skills

Highly Desirable:

• Azure data platform experience
• dbt
• Delta Lake experience
• Master and reference data modelling
• Metadata, lineage and data quality experience
• Sparx Enterprise Architect or similar modelling tools
• Previous experience across complex customer, digital or media data environments
