Senior Database Administrator
You will manage RDBMS and NoSQL solutions, ensuring database performance, scalability, high availability, and disaster recovery across environments deployed on bare-metal servers and virtual machines. You will implement and manage replication chains, partitioning and sharding, and backups. You'll assist development teams in creating, optimizing, and troubleshooting RDBMS and NoSQL solutions, and drive automation using tools like Terraform and Puppet for infrastructure and database lifecycle management.
Responsibilities
- Manage RDBMS and NoSQL solutions
- Ensure database performance, scalability, high availability, and disaster recovery across environments deployed on bare-metal servers and virtual machines
- Implement and manage replication chains, partitioning / sharding, backups
- Assist development teams in creating, optimizing, and problem solving with RDBMS and NoSQL solutions
- Troubleshoot database issues
- Drive automation using Terraform, Puppet, and custom tooling for infrastructure and database lifecycle management
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Technology, or a related field of study
- Expert-level experience with at least one of MySQL, PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with other RDBMS or NoSQL solutions
- Strong knowledge of SQL (DDL, DML, DCL)
- Experience with AWS or GCP cloud platforms
- Proficiency in Linux
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- English language proficiency at B2 level or higher
- Experience in scripting, automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Puppet, Bash/Python) is a plus
- Team management experience is a plus
- Familiarity with observability tools like Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or Zabbix is a plus
