In this role, you will create 3D models, assemblies, technical drawings, and documentation while partnering with R&D engineers to turn concepts and design inputs into production-ready CAD solutions.

This role is based in Memphis, TN, with a hybrid workstyle.

What You Will Do

  • Design and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings for orthopedic instruments and implants using established engineering and drafting standards.

  • Develop components, subsystems, tooling, fixtures, and related documentation to support concept development, prototyping, testing, and production release.

  • Create, route, and release engineering documentation, including engineering change requests and design revisions, while meeting quality and regulatory requirements.

  • Review technical drawings, bills of materials, and product documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established standards.

  • Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles to support manufacturability, inspection, and product quality.

  • Lead CAD-related activities for cross-functional product development teams during ideation, design reviews, testing, and prototype evaluations.

  • Analyze design inputs and technical requirements to develop effective CAD solutions and support design decision-making.

  • Provide training, guidance, and technical support on product lifecycle management (PLM), CAD tools, and documentation processes.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma and 6+ years of relevant design experience; OR associate degree and 4+ years of relevant design experience; OR bachelor’s degree.

  • 2+ years of experience using three-dimensional Computer-Aided Design software.

  • Experience with 3D CAD software.

  • Experience creating and maintaining technical drawings and engineering documentation.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Creo experience is strongly preferred.

  • Experience with Windchill/OnePLM, or another product lifecycle management system; transferable PLM or lifecycle management experience will be considered.

  • Experience applying engineering drafting standards or GD&T principles.

  • Experience supporting medical device, orthopedic, regulated product, aerospace, automotive, industrial manufacturing, or consumer product development environments.


  • $72,500 - $120,900 USD Annual
