Senior Electrical Design Engineer

The job description for an Senior Electrical Design Engineer specializing in power distribution and control systems requires designing electrical switchboards, creating schematics, and preparing bills of materials. Key duties involve ensuring compliance with international safety standards, coordinating with manufacturing teams, and providing production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Create electrical drawings including single-line diagrams, control schematics, and wiring layouts.
• Select electrical components and prepare accurate bills of materials (BOM).
• Ensure all designs meet customer specifications and international industry standards.
• Work closely with metalwork, assembly, and testing departments during manufacturing.
• Support factory acceptance tests (FAT) and resolve shop-floor technical issues.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 5 yrs of Marine Electrical Industry experience
• Professional experience in designing switchboards, motor control panels, or power distribution gear.
• Strong proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
• Good knowledge of low-voltage or medium-voltage electrical components and safety codes.
