Senior Electronics Designer

Build the future with Wapice!

At Wapice, you will design industrial electronics for real-world products across a wide range of industries. You will work hands-on with everything from sensor and measurement electronics to embedded processor platforms, I/O and radio interfaces, and Linux-capable SoCs. Our projects span the full product development lifecycle – from early prototypes and architecture definition to testing, debugging and production.

You will have the opportunity to take ownership of complete electronic designs and contribute to system-level architecture, working closely with software and other engineering disciplines. Depending on your experience, you can shape both the technical solution and the way the product moves from an idea into production.

We are now looking for a new Senior Electronics Designer to join us!

What kind of skills are we looking for?

We value a broad set of competencies and a genuine drive to keep learning. To succeed in this role, you should bring experience in both electronics and device-architecture definition.

Expertise required for this role:

  • Schematic design and PCB layout

  • Experience with EDA tools such as Mentor PADS, Altium or similar

  • Hands-on electronics product development experience, from requirements to working hardware

  • Compliance and product certification workflows (CE, FCC, UL, etc.)

  • Partitioning system functionality between hardware, firmware and programmable logic

  • System-level electronics architecture covering PCBs, modules and complete units

What we consider an advantage:

  • High-speed digital design and SI/PI analysis or simulation

  • Production test planning, DfM and DfT

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: CPU/MCU systems, RF, FPGA, power electronics or analog front-ends

  • Embedded software bring-up and debugging

We expect you to have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or related field. We are looking for a Senior Electronics Designer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in electronics product development. You do not need to be an expert in every area listed above, but we value broad technical understanding and the ability to take responsibility for electronics and device-level architecture. Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills and willingness to challenge yourself in varying projects are the key factors to succeed. We hope you share our passion for electronics and can demonstrate it through your previous work and projects.

This is a permanent, full-time position. The preferred locations for the role are Vaasa and Tampere, where our electronics teams are based. However, the position can also be based elsewhere in Finland. While most of our roles require only English language skills, Finnish language skills are considered an advantage.

In line with the EU Pay Transparency Directive, we are committed to sharing the salary range for the role before the interview stage.
