Senior Engineering Manager
You lead multiple engineering teams building the Affinidi Elements platform. You provide technical and people leadership, guide architecture and engineering strategy, oversee secure and scalable distributed systems, establish engineering standards, develop engineering leaders, and support high-quality backend and frontend delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead multiple engineering teams
- Provide vision, direction, and coaching to managers, staff engineers, and senior individual contributors
- Drive engineering execution and on-time delivery
- Oversee and contribute to high-scale distributed production systems
- Collaborate with product, design, and business stakeholders on the technology roadmap
- Establish engineering best practices, delivery processes, and quality standards
- Mentor and develop engineering leaders
- Improve scalability, architecture, and developer experience
- Champion privacy by design, security-first principles, and engineering quality
- Guide critical technical decisions across backend and frontend systems
Requirements
- Proven experience leading engineering organizations in global, high-growth environments
- Strong coaching, mentoring, leadership, and team development skills
- Ability to balance strategic vision with practical execution
- Strong knowledge of TypeScript and Node.js
- Experience with React, Next.js, and/or Flutter
- Experience designing, deploying, and scaling microservices in AWS cloud environments
- Knowledge of privacy, security, cryptography, and resilient system design
- Experience with asynchronous cryptography and identity or authentication domains is a strong plus
- Experience with cross-functional collaboration
- Backend expertise in Rust is a bonus
- Expertise in decentralized identity solutions is a bonus
- Experience building systems with advanced cryptography requirements is a bonus
