Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Go/TypeScript)
JOB OVERVIEW
Plan A Technologies is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join our engineering organization and contribute to the design, development, and delivery of scalable, modern software solutions.
This is a senior, hands-on individual contributor role for an engineer who is comfortable working across the entire application stack and who can quickly become productive in new technologies and codebases. While our current environment includes technologies such as Go and TypeScript, we are looking for someone with strong engineering fundamentals and a broad technical background rather than expertise in a single language or framework.
The ideal candidate has experience building distributed systems, modern web applications, and cloud-native platforms, and is equally comfortable contributing to backend services, frontend applications, integrations, and architecture discussions. They understand that technologies evolve, and they have demonstrated the ability to successfully adapt throughout their career.
Hands-on software delivery – Design, develop, test, and deploy production-quality software across backend services, frontend applications, APIs, and integrations, contributing throughout the software development lifecycle.
Full-stack engineering – Work across multiple layers of the platform, including user interfaces, backend services, distributed systems, data persistence, and cloud infrastructure, adapting to the technologies required by each project.
Architecture & technical design – Participate in system design and architectural discussions, helping build scalable, maintainable, secure, and resilient solutions while balancing technical and business priorities.
Distributed systems development – Design and implement applications based on microservices, microfrontends, APIs, asynchronous messaging, and event-driven architectures.
Code quality & review – Conduct thorough peer code reviews, promote engineering best practices, and help maintain a high standard for code quality, maintainability, and performance.
Testing discipline – Develop comprehensive automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests as part of the standard development process, ensuring quality through continuous integration.
Technical problem solving – Solve complex engineering challenges across multiple codebases, technologies, and services, independently driving solutions with minimal supervision.
Engineering standards – Follow established engineering practices, SDLC processes, security standards, and coding guidelines while identifying opportunities to improve tooling, architecture, and development workflows.
Collaboration & knowledge sharing – Partner closely with engineers, architects, product managers, designers, and stakeholders, documenting technical decisions and sharing knowledge across the team.
Continuous improvement – Contribute to platform modernization initiatives, technical debt reduction, developer productivity, and continuous improvements to engineering practices.
8+ years of professional software engineering experience building and delivering production applications
6+ years with Go and TypeScript.
Strong experience developing full-stack applications, including both backend systems and modern web applications.
Demonstrated experience working with multiple programming languages, frameworks, and technology stacks, with the ability to quickly learn and become productive in unfamiliar environments.
Strong understanding of software engineering principles, object-oriented design, design patterns, algorithms, and data structures.
Experience designing and building distributed systems using microservices architecture.
Experience developing or contributing to applications using microfrontend architecture or other modular frontend approaches.
Experience designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs, GraphQL, gRPC, or event-driven integrations.
Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases.
Strong understanding of cloud-native application development and modern infrastructure concepts.
Experience writing and maintaining automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests as a standard part of the development lifecycle.
Experience working within established CI/CD pipelines, version control workflows, trunk-based development, and modern software delivery practices.
Demonstrated ability to review code rigorously, provide constructive technical feedback, and maintain a high engineering quality bar.
Ability to quickly onboard into existing systems, understand complex codebases, and deliver production-ready solutions with minimal guidance.
Professional experience with technologies such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, Kotlin, Rust, or similar modern programming languages.
Experience with agentic software development using tools like Claude Code, Github Copilot, or Amazon Kiro.
Experience with frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, Next.js, or comparable technologies.
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Familiarity with messaging platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS/SNS, or similar technologies.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code, observability, monitoring, logging, and performance optimization.
Exposure to Domain-Driven Design (DDD), event-driven architecture, or distributed system design patterns.
