Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Business Partner to serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders within the Technology division of a fast-paced financial services organization. The Technology division includes more than 750 current full-time employees, and this role will partner closely with business leadership to align people strategies with business objectives, support organizational effectiveness, and drive talent initiatives across the employee lifecycle. This is a high-touch role requiring strong relationship building, effective communication, and a hands-on approach to supporting leaders and employees. The Senior HR Business Partner will provide both strategic guidance and practical HR support, balancing judgment, risk management, and a practical understanding of employment practices.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to senior leaders within the Technology division, providing guidance on workforce planning, organizational design, performance management, employee relations, and talent development for a population of 750+ full-time employees.
Develop and execute people strategies that support business priorities, enhance organizational effectiveness, and strengthen employee engagement.
Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with the Legal team in addressing a broad range of employee matters.
Provide coaching and counsel to managers on complex employee matters, including performance concerns, conduct issues, conflict resolution, and change management.
Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with leaders, managers, employees, and HR partners through proactive engagement, responsiveness, and clear communication.
Take a hands-on approach to HR service delivery, remaining closely involved in day-to-day matters while also driving strategic priorities and longer-term people initiatives.
Collaborate with leaders across HR and other corporate functions including Finance, Compliance and Strategy, to deliver integrated HR solutions and ensure consistent application of policies and practices. Use data, analytics, and business insights to identify trends, assess organizational needs, and recommend practical actions that improve talent outcomes.
Support annual HR processes, including performance reviews, compensation planning, talent reviews, promotions, succession planning, and engagement initiatives.
Advise on organizational changes, restructurings, role design, and workforce transitions while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and risk awareness.
Promote a culture of accountability, inclusion, collaboration, and high performance across assigned client groups.
Manage, coach, and develop one HR Business Partner resource, providing direction, feedback, and support to ensure strong service delivery and professional growth.
Contribute to broader HR initiatives and continuous improvement efforts across the HR function.
Qualifications
8-12+ years of Human Resources experience, including significant experience as an HR Business Partner (Technology preferred)
Demonstrated ability to partner with senior leaders and influence business decisions through sound judgment, credibility, and practical HR expertise.
Strong knowledge of employee relations, performance management, talent management, compensation processes, organizational design, and employment practices.
Experience managing or mentoring HR professionals, with the ability to provide clear direction and develop talent.
Exceptional communication, coaching, relationship-building, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to adapt messages for senior leaders, managers, and employees.
Proven ability to provide a high level of support in a complex, fast-moving environment, with a willingness to be hands-on and responsive to business needs.
Ability to operate with discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment when handling confidential or sensitive matters.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret HR data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
The expected base salary ranges from $200,000. - $250,000.00 Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, including but not limited to Medical, Dental and 401k that begin on day one of employment, successful candidates are also eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
