Massey University is seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior IT Projects Manager to lead the ongoing implementation of the University's Supervised Examinations Project.
This significant university-wide initiative commenced in Semester One and will continue through until the end of 2027, supporting the delivery of both in-person and online supervised examinations through a third-party technology solution.
Reporting to the Practice Lead, Projects Delivery within Information Technology Services, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of project delivery in partnership with an external vendor and a wide range of stakeholders from across the University. The project encompasses a complex range of deliverables including examination technology, venue management, communications, examination content, operational processes, and organisational readiness.
This is a highly collaborative role requiring engagement with academic and professional staff across the University, external partners, and project governance groups. You will oversee project planning, resource coordination, financial management, risk and issue management, logistics, reporting, and stakeholder communications while providing regular updates to the project's governance committee.
Working within agreed timelines, you will ensure project outcomes are delivered effectively, meet quality expectations, and support the University's strategic objectives.
What you'll bring
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Business Management, or equivalent professional experience
- A recognised project management certification at a senior practitioner level
- Extensive experience delivering complex IT projects within large enterprise environments
- Proven experience leading enterprise-wide projects involving multiple stakeholder groups and external vendors
- Strong capability in managing project budgets, resources, risks, governance and reporting requirements
- Experience delivering technology-enabled business change programmes in large and complex organisations
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships across all levels of an organisation
- The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on project delivery and operational implementation

Salary
Salary band: $99,945 to $134,239 per annum based on skills and experience.
