Senior Java Developer

As a Senior Java Developer reporting to Director – Software Engineering, you'll take end-to-end ownership of meaningful technical challenges — from understanding requirements to shipping production-ready solutions. You'll work across backend systems, security, and cross-platform development, contributing to both new builds and the evolution of existing products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions that meet or exceed product and client requirements

  • Build and maintain security-focused applications of increasing scope and complexity

  • Extend and improve existing systems — adding functionality, enhancing performance, and adapting to new environments

  • Ensure cross-platform compatibility across all deliverables

  • Monitor system improvements post-deployment and iterate based on performance outcomes

  • Contribute to architecture, database design, and technical direction as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience

  • At least 3 years strong, hands-on Java development skills with a solid understanding of software design principles, data structures, and algorithms

  • Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases — including design, analysis, and querying

  • Proven experience with continuous integration and deployment practices Demonstrated ability to write secure, testable, and maintainable code

  • Experience with cross-platform or multi-environment development

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure

  • Experience with data warehousing or large-scale data systems

  • Background or interest in application security best practices

This position will be located in Sydney, Australia and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 2 days a week in-office (may increase to 3 days in the future).

This is a permanent, full-time role so candidates should have full working rights in Australia. To be eligible to apply, you must have Australian citizenship or permanent residency status.
