Senior Platform Engineer
You will design and build reusable platform capabilities for enterprise and consumer products. You will develop backend and systems software, create stable APIs and SDKs, own features from architecture through production support, improve CI/CD and release automation, document developer interfaces, diagnose complex system issues, and enhance developer tooling and workflows.
Responsibilities
- Design and build reliable platform capabilities shared across products
- Develop backend and systems software focused on performance, security, maintainability, and operational reliability
- Create clear and stable APIs and SDKs for internal and external developers
- Own features from architecture and implementation through testing, packaging, release, and production support
- Build and improve CI/CD pipelines for multi-platform builds, automated testing, artifact publishing, and releases
- Establish practices for API evolution, versioning, compatibility, and migration
- Write documentation, examples, and reference implementations for APIs
- Diagnose performance, concurrency, reliability, and integration problems across complex systems
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to turn product needs into reusable platform capabilities
- Improve developer tooling and workflows
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience
- Experience designing and maintaining APIs, SDKs, client libraries, or developer-facing platform interfaces
- Systems-engineering experience with concurrency, process boundaries, resource management, failure modes, and performance
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and release automation
- Experience packaging, versioning, and distributing production software
- Ability to write maintainable code, effective tests, technical documentation, and examples
- Experience diagnosing complex integration, reliability, and performance problems
- Ability to take complex or ambiguous requirements through design, implementation, and release
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- Professional experience with Rust
- Experience building distributed, peer-to-peer, offline-capable, or edge systems
- Experience designing or integrating foreign function interfaces and language bindings
- Experience working across programming-language and process boundaries
- Familiarity with semantic versioning, compatibility policies, and API migration strategies
- Experience building cross-platform software
- Experience creating developer tools, code generators, build tooling, or release infrastructure
- Experience with security-sensitive or privacy-preserving systems
