Senior Project Manager, Information Security
The Team
We are seeking a Project Manager to join American Tower’s Information Security Team. The Information Security Team is responsible for cybersecurity operations, risk management and governance of cybersecurity programs and controls across American Tower. Day to day you will plan, coordinate, and deliver Information Security initiatives while providing Program Management Office (PMO) support. You will be responsible for maintaining project plans and reporting on the overall Information Security project portfolio, which includes Identity and Access Management; tool implementations (SIEM, DLP, CASB, EDR); cloud security initiatives; vulnerability management, network, and firewall management; and others. In addition, you will track and report on IT and business-owned projects that have Information Security interests. You will also be responsible for PMO responsibilities related to resourcing, budgeting, prioritization and escalations; as well as participation in governance meetings and the generation of reporting and metrics for executive leadership and stakeholder audiences. As a Project Manager, you will work cross-functionally with Information Technology, Business Enablement and other business to drive the execution of Information Security projects and controls.
What You Can Offer Us
- Lead and manage Information Security projects throughout the project lifecycle, from initiation through closure including developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies.
- Monitor project scope, risks, issues, budget, and resource utilization as well as facilitate project governance meetings, steering committees, and status reviews.
- Ensure project deliverables align with organizational security objectives and strategic priorities.
- Coordinate project activities across cybersecurity, infrastructure, applications, cloud, networking, and business teams.
- Facilitate communication and issue resolution among project teams and executives.
- Coordinate dependencies across multiple projects and programs.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment on project objectives and priorities. Identify, document, and track project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies. Proactively escalate critical risks and obstacles to leadership as necessary, developing mitigation and remediation plans to address project challenges.
- Maintain project portfolio dashboards, reporting metrics, and executive status updates for Information Security projects and IT and Business-owned projects that have Information Security interests.
- Manage project intake, prioritization, scheduling, and portfolio governance processes.
- Manage information security policy and standard maintenance activities.
- Coordinate resource allocation across multiple Information Security and IT initiatives including the monitoring of resource utilization and capacity to identify conflicts, constraints, and optimization opportunities. Collaborate with managers to secure appropriate staffing and project support.
- Coordinate the creation, tracking, and management of purchase orders (POs) and vendor-related expenditures working with Finance, Procurement, and IT leadership to ensure timely processing of POs and invoices.
- Track software licensing, maintenance renewals, consulting services, and project-related expenditures.
- Serve as a liaison between Information Security, IT Operations, IT Application Development, Procurement, Legal, and Business Enablement Teams.

What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience) in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Business Administration, Project Management, and/or related field is required.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, Agile certifications preferred.
- 8+ years of project management experience supporting Information Technology and/or Information Security initiatives required.
- Experience with PMO governance, portfolio management, and resource planning tools such as Monday.com, Microsoft Project, Jira, ServiceNow, Smartsheet, Power BI, and Microsoft 365 required.
- Experience managing projects with significant cross-functional collaboration from IT Infrastructure, IT Operations and Application Development teams required.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, or PCI DSS required.
- Familiarity with IT Infrastructure and Computer Networking concepts required.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects in a complex global enterprise environment required.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid approaches required.
- Experience with PMO activities related to resource and capacity management, budget management, procurement processes, and purchase order administration required.
- Experience with change management and software development lifecycle requirements required.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
- Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the established timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
