Newfire is seeking engineers who problem-solve, build, and understand the methodologies and underlying concepts of software engineering. As an experienced engineer, you will join the team with the autonomy and decision rights to immediately begin shaping our healthcare data ecosystem for our clients. Our goal is to connect the world’s health data and as an Engineer you will work on the architecture and design level solutioning of our product while also driving implementation and helping to mentor other team members. - Support and enhance existing platforms
- Work on multiple projects at once while prioritizing them in a timely manner.
- Architect and develop solutions and provide technical leadership throughout the development life cycle
- Develop accurate time-estimates for work assignments and communicate with engineering management and team leaders on task prioritization, scheduling, and coordination
- Provide technical input and knowledge to your team for the planning, design, and requirements process for new products and features
- As a Senior team member, you will be expected to actively participate in our hiring processes by serving on interview panels for future roles across the company.
- 5+ years of experience writing production-ready code, performing code reviews, and working on full stack design and architecture of applications
- Exceptional ability to write production-ready code and build scalable data flows
- Readiness to thrive and communicate with your team and collaborate with others in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated experience owning projects, migrations, and leading from the front
- Excitement, passion and curiosity about our mission of connecting the world’s health data and improving patient outcomes
- Python deep knowledge/expertise
- Multi-cloud experience, at least AWS
- Tools: GitHub for code mgmt, Datadog for observability, Slack for communication
- This role is not just about resolving tickets—it’s about adding value and helping clients achieve their business objectives
- Good knowledge of system design, design patterns, data structures, and basic algorithms
- Strong proficiency with Rest API design & implementation experience
- Hands-on experience with unit/integration testing
- Great communication skills, ability to onboard/ mentor junior team members, attention to detail
- English proficiency
- Ability to be given high-level guidance and direction and work with some ambiguity
- Experience with Java, Kafka, SQL, Cassandra, Redis, AWS would be a plus
- Experience with Stored Procedures for efficient database operations
