RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design, develop, and own backend services and APIs in Golang within the Users domain
• Drive non-trivial work across authentication, permissions, user settings, and related identity flows
• Improve performance and reliability of data-intensive paths (e.g. registration and member APIs) with
careful MongoDB query and indexing choices
• Strengthen security posture around auth (JWT secrets, shared configuration, auditability, and safe
rollout of sensitive changes)
• Support the permissions platform so other teams can add and evolve access controls with clear docs
and automation-friendly workflows
• Collaborate with Product, QA, and partner squads on cross-cutting user journeys (e.g. Member
Transfer, event consumers for user lifecycle, etc.)
• Raise the quality bar through design reviews, thoughtful testing, pairing, and mentoring more junior
engineers
• Work with an energized, fun, friendly and customer-focused cross-functional team using Agile & Lean ways of working underpinned by DevOps and CI/CD
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant field exp. preferred
• 4+ years of experience with a general-purpose programming language, 2+ in Golang
• Proven experience owning complex backend features or services end to end
• Solid experience building and operating HTTP APIs; comfort with document databases (MongoDB or
similar) and performance-minded data access
• Practical understanding of authentication and authorization concepts (tokens, roles/permissions,
secure secret handling)
• Solid understanding of the practical application of agile development methods in an
Agile/Lean/Continuous Delivery environment
• Knowledge of modern Quality and Testing principles
• Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable mentoring peers and partnering with Product
• Comfortable learning new technologies and systems
AND IT’S GREAT TO HAVE
• Hands-on experience with JWT (or similar) auth systems, secret rotation, and AWS SSM (or
equivalent secret stores)
• Experience with event-driven architectures or consumer services for user lifecycle events
• Prior work on permissions/RBAC platforms, identity domains, or high-traffic registration/login paths
• Familiarity with legacy or multi-repo platforms where you evolve shared auth and API surfaces safely
• Comfort collaborating as a code owner / reviewer across services that other squads depend o


Compensation for this role will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and market considerations. The anticipated compensation range for this position is -
- annually. In addition to base compensation, eligible employees may be offered other forms of compensation, such as bonuses, commissions, equity, or other incentive programs, where applicable. Compensation and benefits may vary by location and are subject to applicable legal, business, and market requirements.
