Senior Software Developer / Platform Lead
Summary
Leads AWS, infrastructure, and backend platform work for live game services, from greenfield development through scaling, monitoring, security, and production operations. The role owns platform strategy and best practices, supports millions of users, and coaches developers using ECS/Fargate, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform/CloudFormation, and relational and NoSQL databases.
We are looking for a Senior Software Developer / Platform Lead to our gaming client. Candidates with gaming experience will be prioritized.
Start: ASAP
Length: 6 months with possible extension
Location: Stockholm on-site minimum 3 days per week
With the tech strategy, our client is expanding the live service operation of a very successful game and supporting R&D projects in the backend&platform domain
With this comes a need for someone to be an AWS / infrastructure / backend services lead that has deep knowledge of cloud platforms, service and solid engineering practices to allow us to fully utilize the platform.
Central Tech will be responsible for the tech stack as a platform, and with that be in a position to set best practices and improve both efficiency and quality. To do that, we need a senior programmer with ideas and opinions about how to do that.
Responsibilities
Being involved in the full product cycle for services in the Central Tech platform, from green field development to maintaining the scalability and performance with millions of users.
As the senior/lead AWS / infrastructure / services developer at central tech, you will be the one leading the work to really make our backend stack a platform and with that let game team developers focus on building the best possible game.
You will be creating processes- tools and introducing best practices for things like AWS usage, monitoring, cloud strategy and handling security for backend services.
Together with the rest of the team, define and set up common levels of monitoring of backend services.
You’ll support the team by ensuring sustainable development processes and workflows. You will support and coach the other developers in the usage of AWS and tools within infrastructure.
You’ll be the one leading the work with our existing cloud infrastructure.
Skills & Knowledge
Solid professional experience with AWS (or other cloud infrastructure providers) at scale, preferably for non-web consumers (apps, other services, apis etc).
Experience building and deploying services in the cloud, and living in an Infrastructure as Code environment.
Knowledge about containerization (i.e. Docker), orchestration (ECS or Kubernetes) and IaC (Terraform and/or CloudFormation)
Good understanding of databases preferably both relational and nosql databases. The larger volumes the better.
Excellent communication skills, and proven ability to merge non-technical requirements into a technical solution
Collaborating and coaching more junior developers.

Kept up with the growth for our current services that are in production. (Currently we’re handling about 1400 requests per second during peak hours)

Established best practices for running services within Fargate/ECS and Kubernetes
