Senior Software Development Engineer Backend
You will design specifications for new features, establish coding standards and best practices, conduct code reviews, build framework code and critical backend features, troubleshoot production issues, deliver solutions from ideation through support, and collaborate with analysts, designers, engineers, product managers, and quality engineers. You will also lead team members and improve code quality, security, availability, and performance.
Responsibilities
- Write design specifications and proposals for new features and enhancements
- Enable team members to write better code by establishing coding standards, best practices, code reviews, and quality assurance practices
- Build framework code and critical new features and enhancements
- Troubleshoot production issues and roll out hot fixes
- Own and deliver solutions from ideation through design, build, operationalization, and support
- Collaborate with business analysts, UX designers, front-end engineers, product managers, and quality engineers
Requirements
- 7+ years of full-cycle software development experience
- 2+ years of experience leading 3-5 team members
- Expert-level skill in Go, Java, or C/C++
- Experience with open-source frameworks such as Gin, Spring, or Oat++
- Experience designing and developing API services
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with design patterns and best practices
- Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
- Experience with SDLC tools such as Git, JIRA, Jenkins, code coverage tools, load and performance tools, or AWS CodeDeploy
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools
- Experience working in startups is helpful
