Senior Software Engineer - Cloud and Data
Summary
Senior backend engineer designing scalable cloud and data architectures on AWS, writing production-grade Python, optimizing SQL/NoSQL databases, and using LLM-assisted coding (Claude, Codex) to ship features quickly.
You write high-quality backend code and move projects from concept to production quickly. You design scalable architectures for massive data volumes, solve complex backend and infrastructure problems, integrate rapidly into existing codebases, develop and maintain AWS services, use LLM-assisted coding, optimize SQL and NoSQL databases, and research modern engineering practices.
Responsibilities
- Write clean, performant, and well-tested Python code
- Design, implement, and optimize data architectures for massive data volumes
- Own technical designs and architectural solutions for backend and infrastructure challenges
- Ramp up on existing codebases and ongoing initiatives
- Deliver features and maintain infrastructure
- Develop and optimize scalable cloud services within AWS
- Create production-grade deliverables using LLM-assisted coding
- Review contributions by coding agents
- Research, evaluate, and implement modern software engineering practices
- Design, query, and fine-tune SQL and NoSQL databases
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong background in backend engineering and technical design
- Advanced Python programming skills
- Deep hands-on experience building, deploying, and managing applications within AWS
- 1+ year of experience using coding agents such as Claude and Codex
- Experience designing and optimizing relational SQL and non-relational NoSQL databases
- Ability to adapt quickly, learn new systems, and deliver at high velocity without sacrificing code quality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of security best practices is an advantage
- Full-stack experience is an advantage
- Experience with Railway or Google Cloud is an advantage
- Experience modernizing legacy infrastructure is an advantage
