Senior Software Engineer, VALORANT - Release Engineering

In VALORANT Foundations, we focus on the game engine, content pipelines, developer workflows, and other critical core capabilities. As a Senior Software Engineer on the VALORANT Foundations Release Engineering team, you will work with our core build and delivery systems ensuring that our players receive the amazing content VALORANT has to offer regularly. This role will report to the Engineering Manager on VALORANT Foundations, Release Engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to effectively maintaining, upgrading and solidifying the release pipeline to deliver VALORANT to all players across the globe.
  • Drive technical processes to improve the automation and longevity of the release pipeline.
  • Collaborate with teammates through leading development efforts around solidifying and automating domain areas.
  • Implement testable, robust engineering solutions to complex problem spaces and release these with a defensive mindset.
  • Contribute to development efforts through effective breakdown and execution on multi-month development efforts.
  • Provide mentorship to junior members of the team.
  • Participate in the team’s support rotations.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years experience in professional software development.
  • Experience developing and maintaining live service products with a proven track record of focusing on developer experience.
  • Ability to write clear, maintainable code and communicate technical concepts effectively across disciplines.
  • Expertise in maintaining and improving orchestration pipelines (Jenkins, Horde or similar).
  • Professional or hobby experience working with Unreal Engine

Desired Qualifications:

  • 3+ years professional experience utilising either C# and/or Groovy.
  • Expert proficiency with Jenkins and a deep knowledge of orchestrating and optimizing a global release flow.
  • Professional experience with Lean or Agile development processes (Scrum, Kanban, etc).
  • Strong proficiency in automating workflows to ensure maintainability and scalability.
  • Expertise in building automated build, test and release pipelines.
  • Proficient with C++ and deep knowledge of software engineering fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, concurrency).
  • Technical expertise in utilising Github actions for service delivery and automation.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating across disciplines.
