About the Role
We’re looking for a motivated Software Engineer with 3+ years of experience to join our Backend Platform team. You’ll help build the scalable services and core capabilities behind DataHub Cloud and enterprise deployments.
In this role, you’ll work on backend systems that make it easier for organizations to manage, operate, and get more value from their data ecosystem. You’ll partner with experienced engineers to solve meaningful challenges across distributed systems, platform reliability, metadata operations, and customer-facing enterprise experiences.
What You’ll Do

Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services that power DataHub Cloud and enterprise platform capabilities.

Develop reliable APIs, workflows, and distributed services that support metadata operations, system health, deployment management, and customer-facing platform experiences.

Partner with senior engineers to solve complex technical challenges involving scalability, performance, availability, and distributed systems.

Build features that help customers configure, manage, and operate DataHub across cloud and enterprise environments.

Improve platform visibility by developing capabilities related to system health, usage, performance, and operational insights.

Collaborate closely with product, design, customer success, and engineering teams to deliver thoughtful, reliable product experiences.

Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code; participate in code reviews; and contribute to technical design discussions.

Contribute to a collaborative engineering culture by sharing knowledge and growing through mentorship from experienced backend and platform engineers.
What You’ll Bring

3+ years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping backend, platform, or distributed systems.

Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Go, or a similar backend-focused language.

Experience designing and building APIs, backend services, distributed workflows, or data-intensive applications.

Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Working knowledge of containers and cloud-native technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.

A solid understanding of core computer-science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, API design, and system performance.

Familiarity with monitoring, observability, or production-system operations.

Knowledge of backend fundamentals such as networking, security, databases, and service reliability.

Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and an ownership-oriented approach to engineering.

Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment and take projects from idea through production.
Nice to Have

Experience building or operating multi-tenant SaaS products.

Experience with customer-facing administration, management, or deployment tools.

Familiarity with data infrastructure, metadata management, data catalogs, analytics platforms, or data governance.

Exposure to microservices, service meshes, or high-scale distributed architectures.
