Software Engineer - PostgresSQL
You will build tooling and services for the SQL database platform, automate operational tasks, investigate performance bottlenecks across kernels networks and databases, create internal developer tools, and participate in on-call operations. You will work with distributed systems, infrastructure, databases, and automated failure recovery.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop database platform tooling and services
- Automate manual operational tasks
- Investigate kernel network and database performance bottlenecks
- Analyze metrics traces and logs in distributed environments
- Build internal developer tooling
- Support database failure detection and automatic recovery
- Participate in the on-call rotation
- Perform root-cause analysis
- Build permanent operational fixes
- Collaborate with Compute Networking and Storage teams
Requirements
- Deep understanding of Linux networking file systems and kernel tuning
- Distributed systems knowledge
- Proficiency in Python Java or Go
- Clean testable and maintainable code development
- Operational database experience at scale
- PostgreSQL or similar database knowledge
- Root-cause analysis
- Infrastructure automation
- Communication of complex infrastructure concepts
- PostgreSQL knowledge
- OpenStack or bare metal experience
- Terraform Ansible or Puppet familiarity
- Vault familiarity
- Prometheus Grafana or ELK experience
