Software QA & Game Design Intern
Salary: $30 per hour
About the role
We are looking for a highly organised, detail-focused recent graduate to join our team in Newmarket as a QA Intern mainly focusing on the Play tester, Software Debugging, and Maintenance, of a revolutionary educational software platform. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with technology, solving problems and making sure things are working exactly as they should. You will work closely with our software and product team to test, review, maintain and improve an educational software platform. The role will involve a combination of play testing, game design, software testing, debugging, data checking, spreadsheet work, content review and general software maintenance.
Key responsibilities
Testing software features and identifying bugs or issues
Play testing and optimizing game design
Reproducing and documenting software problems clearly
Checking data, content and system outputs for accuracy
Maintaining and updating spreadsheets and tracking documents
Reviewing written content for spelling, grammar and consistency
Carrying out detailed quality-assurance checks
Organising and maintaining software testing records
Helping identify opportunities to improve the user experience
Working with developers and other team members to investigate and resolve issues
About you
Recent graduate (within the last 12 months) from a New Zealand tertiary education institute, with a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Design or Business
Excellent spreadsheet skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Strong spelling and written communication skills
Excellent organisational and time-management skills
A logical and methodical approach to problem solving
An ability to identify errors and inconsistencies
Confidence working with software and digital tools
A willingness to learn and investigate problems independently
The ability to document issues clearly and accurately
