Software Release Manager
Position Summary
Avum is looking for a highly organized and detail-driven Software Release Manager to lead end-to-end coordination of software releases. This role owns the end-to-end release lifecycle, establishing structured, consistent processes that align to engineering and cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will drive planning, manage dependencies, and ensure reliable, seamless delivery while building scalable systems that reduce complexity. With a hands-on, data-driven approach, the ideal candidate will continuously improve release performance and enable faster, more confident execution in a high-grow environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers, engineering teams, and stakeholders to define release plans aligned with business objectives and project timelines.
- Manage the end-to-end release lifecycle, including scheduling, coordination, and stakeholder communication.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks that may impact release quality or timelines.
- Partner with QA teams to ensure releases meet quality standards and are free of critical defects.
- Maintain accurate release documentation, including release notes, deployment procedures, and version control information.
- Facilitate communication and alignment across cross-functional teams throughout the release process.
- Work alongside the current Release Manager, sharing responsibilities with defined ownership to ensure efficient execution and avoid overlap.
- Continuously improve release processes by implementing best practices, tools, and automation where applicable.
- Provide post-release support and troubleshooting to ensure smooth transitions to production environments.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for all releases.
- Track and report on release metrics, including process, performance, and quality, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $150,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, certifications, and geographic location.
