Solution Architect - 12 month contract - Perth CBD

Talent International is recruiting an experienced Solution Architect to join one of our major mining clients, supporting strategic technology initiatives across mining operations and Operational Technology environments.

This role acts as the technical lead on new demands, projects and solutions, working across business and technology teams to define architectures that are secure, scalable, practical and aligned with organisational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design technology solutions that meet business, commercial, infrastructure and functional requirements.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, project managers and technical teams to define solution architectures for complex problems.
• Lead technical architecture across assigned projects and provide guidance to delivery teams.
• Ensure solutions align with security, compliance, data privacy and architecture standards.
• Provide architecture oversight from concept and design through implementation.
• Partner with strategic suppliers, technology vendors and internal stakeholders to develop fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Support complex technology change programs across mining and operational environments.
• Contribute to architecture governance, standards and design assurance.
• Participate in and strengthen the broader architecture community and centre of excellence.
• Provide clear technical recommendations, options and trade-off analysis to senior stakeholders.

Essential Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of demonstrated architecture experience developing and delivering complex technology solutions.
• Strong Operational Technology (OT) experience within mining, resources, industrial or similarly complex operational environments.
• Strong understanding of iron ore operations and associated technology environments.
• Experience across presales, solution design and implementation.
• Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale technology change programs.
• Broad technology knowledge across infrastructure, applications, integration, cloud, security and operational systems.
• Ability to translate business requirements into robust solution architectures.
• Experience working across both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and consultative communication capability.
• Experience working with strategic vendors and external technology partners.

• TOGAF certification
• Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional
• Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE)
• VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX)
• Relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field
