Sound Design Team Manager
Summary
Hands-on Sound Design Team Manager at IKG Group in Tbilisi, defining audio standards and leading the sound design function for slot and iGaming products while personally producing high-quality SFX, music, and audio implementation. Collaborates across Product, Development, and Art teams.
JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a hands-on Sound Design Team Manager responsible for defining audio standards, ensuring quality and performance, and leading the development of the sound design function across slot and other game products, while remaining personally and actively involved in sound design and music production. The role oversees the audio pipeline, delivery, and scalability of the team in alignment with product and business goals.
This role combines hands-on production—personally creating and implementing high-quality audio—with ownership of the audio function and close collaboration across Product, Development, and Art teams. The Sound Design Team Manager ensures that sound design consistently supports player engagement, reward mechanics, and long-session comfort across multiple concurrent titles.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Personally design and produce high-quality sound effects, music, and audio implementation for key titles, remaining a hands-on contributor and setting the creative and technical benchmark for the team.
Take ownership of the most challenging, high-visibility, and technically demanding audio work, while using personal craft to enhance player engagement and reinforce reward mechanics.
Define and maintain the overall audio direction, creative vision, and quality standards across all products, ensuring a consistent, polished audio experience.
Align with Product, Development, and Art stakeholders on the audio vision and requirements for each project, and approve final audio output before stakeholder presentations.
Establish and uphold standards for sound design, music composition, implementation, performance, and optimization, balancing creative impact with long-session listening comfort and technical constraints.
Regularly review team output and provide clear, constructive feedback to ensure consistency, quality, and continuous improvement.
Define and evolve the sound design team structure, including roles, responsibilities, ownership, and reporting lines.
Oversee team capacity, hiring needs, scaling, and long-term capability development, while supporting and developing the Lead Game Sound Designer and Sound Designer(s).
Define clear performance expectations, ownership, accountability, and evaluation frameworks for the audio team.
Oversee audio delivery across multiple concurrent projects and align the audio roadmap with company timelines, product priorities, and business goals.
Establish and continuously improve audio pipelines and workflows, including asset naming, documentation, version control, and delivery standards.
Identify and communicate production risks early, proactively addressing capacity, technical, and delivery challenges.
Guide the team in balancing creative sound design with memory, platform, performance, and other technical requirements.
Provide regular updates on audio progress, risks, achievements, and key priorities to relevant stakeholders.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
5+ years of hands-on experience in sound design for games, iGaming, or visual media, including demonstrated leadership experience.
Strong personal portfolio showcasing high-quality sound design, music composition, and implementation work — this role continues to produce, not only manage.
Proven track record managing or overseeing sound design/audio teams and workflows.
Proven experience creating UI sounds, SFX, and music for visual media.
Advanced proficiency in DAWs such as Ableton Live or Reaper.
Strong understanding of audio implementation, performance optimization, and platform/technical constraints.
Experience working in cross-functional environments with Product, Design, and Development departments.
Experience in capacity planning, resource allocation, and scaling teams.
Strong decision-making and prioritization skills across multiple concurrent projects.
Ability to identify risks and proactively drive solutions.
Strong cross-functional communication skills with both creative and technical stakeholders.
Attention to detail in timing, layering, and mix balance, with the ability to evaluate and give feedback on others' work.
Professional proficiency in English.
Analytical mindset with the ability to define standards and iterate based on feedback.
WE OFFER

Fully covered premium health insurance.
