Senior Associate, R&D Business Analysis Team
What you will do
In this role, you will be an experienced individual contributor within the R&D Business Analysis Team, supporting enterprise analytics and workforce transformation initiatives through hands-on data analysis, modeling, and insight generation. You will work under the guidance of Managers and Senior Managers while building strong analytical, financial, and business acumen.
You will contribute to analytics delivery across the value journey, including development of resource, financial, and capability baselines; analytics data packs; business cases; and value confirmation and realization. You will also collaborate with Technology partners to support automation and continuous improvement efforts, contributing to the development of sustainable analytics platforms that enable ongoing transformation.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate their analytical skills to challenge the status quo, drive continuous improvement, and embed digital ways of working into our end-to-end processes
Objectives of this Role
- Support deliverables for workforce strategy: Support financial and data analyses across baselining, business case development, value confirmation, value extraction and value realization. Collaborate with cross-functional global teams to ensure accurate analytics and insights delivery operating in the "following-the-sun" model
- Activity-Based Cost Analysis: Support analyses of total workforce spend and allocation. Recommend strategic cost-saving initiatives and optimizations based on analysis findings
- Vendor Analysis: Support the evaluation of vendor performance and impact on organizational efficiency. Develop strategies for vendor optimization and cost management
- Opportunity Analysis: Support identifying and prioritizing areas of opportunity across the organization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement organizational improvements
- System Updates & Scenario Modeling: Build and optimize data and financial models that support key processes across the value journey of our transformation. Help ensure central systems and scenario modeling tools are updated with accurate data and assumptions. Support development of new modeling tools to enhance predictive capabilities
- External Market Analysis: Support the analysis of external market trends and their impact on workforce strategy. Provide strategic recommendations based on market insights to drive organizational competitiveness
Job Responsibilities:
- Support BAT Managers with hands-on data gathering, modeling, and business case development
- Build and maintain detailed resource, financial, and capability baselines for initiatives and functions
- Conduct analyses for value confirmation and support tracking of value realization
- Assist with variance analysis, deviation management, and value reconciliation against approved cases
- Analyze workforce and financial data to identify areas of opportunity and optimization
- Build and optimize data and financial models across the value journey
- Support updates to central systems and scenario modeling tools with accurate data and assumptions
- Lead and facilitate information collection efforts, including stakeholder interviews and data validation
- Collaborate with global, cross-functional teams operating in a “follow-the-sun” model
- Partner with Finance and planning teams to understand impacts to budgets and long-range

Basic Qualifications
- Master’s degree OR Bachelor’s degree and 4–7 years of Data Analytics, Science & Technology Management, or Finance experience OR
- Proficiency in financial modeling (Excel), data analytics, and business intelligence tools
- Passion for data exploration, visualization, and building analytical narratives
- Intellectual curiosity with the ability to learn new tools, concepts, and methods
- Experience working in highly collaborative, cross-functional environments
- Working knowledge of financial data, metrics, and systems
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality financial and business analysis to support R&D planning, budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making
- Develop analytical insights that inform business cases, workforce strategy, and resource optimization
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business questions into structured analytical solutions
- Contribute to continuous improvement, standardization, and automation of analytics and reporting
- Ensure accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of financial and workforce data
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
- Understanding of how business decisions impact financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Experience with Oracle Hyperion/EPM, SAP, Anaplan
- Experience with PowerBI, Tableau, Alteryx, Databricks, or similar analytics tools
- Familiarity with SQL or Python and exposure to AWS services (e.g., S3, Redshift)
- Prior multinational or global corporate experience
