Sr. Infrastructure Engineer (Mulesoft Developer)

OVERVIEW

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer (MuleSoft Developer), you will design, optimize, and safeguard the integration services that connect General Mills' most critical systems. You will lead complex, high-impact platform efforts, partner closely with our solution delivery and architecture teams, and drive resilience, scalability, and cost efficiency across the Digital & Technology organization. You will also serve as a subject matter expert and mentor, shaping best practices and guiding fellow developers. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Deliver and support multiple MuleSoft solutions across projects, producing high-quality, secure, bug-free code and complete solution design documents.
  • Provide technical leadership for MuleSoft solutioning and platform maturity, translating strategy and architecture into highly available, secure technical implementations in accordance with best practices.
  • Set up and maintain repositories, CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and unit tests, and identify and implement process improvements by automating manual work and optimizing data delivery for scale.
  • Uphold and enforce security, compliance, and governance standards, defining best practices and processes across enterprise integration applications.
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor MuleSoft developers, guiding and cross-training team members and helping them understand the need for change.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with data engineers, developers, and data and analytics teams to influence, motivate, and lead cultural change for the adoption of new technologies.
  • Monitor industry trends and lead proof-of-concepts to evaluate and implement new technologies, proactively improving key operational SLAs such as uptime, application performance, and time to issue resolution.
  • Provide 24x7 on-call production support once a month on a rotational basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Full-time graduation from an accredited university (Mandatory — Note: this is the minimum education criteria, which cannot be altered).
  • Experience:
    • At least 8 years of overall professional experience.
    • A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience with MuleSoft.
    • At least 3 years of practical experience with Java or C# (object-oriented programming languages).
    • A minimum of 1 year of experience working with databases.
    • Experience with integration design patterns, automation, standardization, and best practices.
    • Experience working directly with technical and business teams, including low-level technical design and requirement gathering.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Hands-on API development using the MuleSoft platform, with expertise in deployment strategies, Mule clustering, Mule Gateway, MUnit, and MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
    • Strong hands-on DataWeave for complex data transformation.
    • Strong expertise in troubleshooting and debugging complex issues, including managing runtime servers and Mule connectors (standard/custom).
    • Familiarity with CI/CD and Cloud Hub/RTF, plus version control tools.
    • Proven skills in Java, JSON, jQuery, and Python and/or other shell scripting.
    • GCP experience.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication skills for coordinating with different stakeholders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MuleSoft Architecture / Development certification.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP), across various cloud deployments, with strong overall cloud knowledge.
  • Familiarity with Kafka, BigQuery, and Google Pub/Sub.
  • Terraform knowledge.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure components, including networking, storage, and computing in cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging tools for performance and issue resolution.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and modern software engineering principles.
  • Ability to work through others, guide and develop junior team members, and provide technical consultation on MuleSoft platform best practices, security, and governance.
  • Strong aptitude to learn and a passion for problem solving.
