Role and Responsibilities
Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Senior Sales Data & Analytics Analyst to support retail sales data infrastructure, reporting, and analytics operations. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end Point-of-Sale (POS) data processes, maintaining sales reporting systems, and ensuring data accuracy across multiple business units. The ideal candidate serves as a key administrator and subject matter expert for sales data governance, reporting tools, and cross-functional data integrations.
Essential Duties:
POS Data Management & Reporting
- Own and maintain daily Point-of-Sale (POS) reporting processes across retail partners
- Monitor retailer reporting status and investigate data delays, gaps, or anomalies
- Maintain retailer account hierarchies and manage onboarding/offboarding of reporting partners
- Manage product SKU-to-material mapping within ERP systems (e.g., SAP or equivalent)
- Perform exception handling and data cleansing to ensure reporting accuracy
- Support historical sales data requests and lead discrepancy investigations
Sales Analytics & Insights
- Respond to ad hoc reporting and analysis requests from Sales, Finance, and leadership teams
- Analyze sales trends, identify patterns, and provide actionable historical sales insights
- Troubleshoot data inconsistencies across multiple reporting platforms and systems
Reporting Systems Administration
- Administer and maintain data connections and integrations across reporting and business tools, including:
- BI/visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce)
- Project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet)
- Data warehouse or OLAP environments
- File transfer systems (e.g., FTP/SFTP)
- Claims and incentive management platforms
- Ensure reliable and timely data flow between all connected systems
Workflow Automation & Administration
- Build, maintain, and update automated data workflows (e.g., Alteryx or equivalent ETL tools)
- Modify workflows to accommodate organizational changes, territory realignments, account updates, and error corrections
- Continuously improve workflow stability, efficiency, and automation coverage
Claims & Financial Reconciliation Support
- Manage periodic claims reconciliation processes, validating sales data against financial records
- Coordinate contract renewals and invoice settlements with third-party data and software vendors
- Prepare and submit internal work orders and purchase requests as needed
- Support multi-year contract renewals for enterprise tools, including cost allocation across business units or divisions
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Sales Operations, Finance, IT, and external vendors to resolve data and reporting issues
- Support the onboarding of new retail partners and data providers
- Champion data governance best practices to ensure reporting accuracy and consistency across all business systems
Skills and Qualifications
Necessary Skills:
- Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets
- Experience with ETL/workflow automation tools (e.g., Alteryx, SSIS, or equivalent)
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce)
- Strong understanding of POS data management and retail sales reporting
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience with contract management or incentive/claims platforms (e.g., Model N or equivalent)
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in sales operations, data analytics, or a related role
