Job Overview:

The Senior Skilled Trades Recruiter is responsible for identifying, attracting, evaluating, and hiring high-quality talent for skilled trades and field leadership positions throughout Rex Moore. Positions may include Apprentices, Electrician Trainees, Journeymen, Foremen, General Foremen, Superintendents, and other specialized construction and technical roles.

This position serves as a senior recruiting resource and strategic partner to hiring managers, field leadership, operations, and Human Resources. The Senior Skilled Trades Recruiter is expected to independently manage complex and high-priority recruiting assignments, develop innovative sourcing strategies, provide market intelligence, and build sustainable talent pipelines that support current and future workforce needs.

In addition to full-cycle recruiting responsibilities, this position contributes to the development and continuous improvement of recruiting processes, systems, reporting, advertising strategies, and talent acquisition programs. The Senior Skilled Trades Recruiter may also provide guidance, training, and mentorship to other members of the recruiting team and serve as a subject matter resource for skilled trades recruiting.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Tasks -

  • Independently manage full-cycle recruiting for skilled trades, field leadership, technical, and other assigned positions from initial workforce request through accepted offer and start date.
  • Source, screen, interview, evaluate, and recommend candidates based on technical experience, qualifications, licensing/certification requirements, leadership capabilities, compensation expectations, geographic availability, and overall fit.
  • Develop and execute targeted sourcing strategies for difficult-to-fill, high-volume, specialized, and geographically challenging positions.
  • Build and maintain proactive talent pipelines for critical field positions to support current projects, anticipated manpower requirements, and future company growth.
  • Develop relationships with passive candidates and maintain ongoing communication with high-value prospects who may not be immediately available.
  • Utilize multiple sourcing channels, including applicant tracking systems, job boards, indeed, ZipRecruiter, LinkedIn, social media, resume databases, referrals, industry contacts, trade schools, apprenticeship programs, community colleges, military transition programs, workforce development organizations, and direct sourcing.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Rex Moore’s operations, projects, market sectors, geographic footprint, and workforce requirements in order to effectively communicate career opportunities to prospective candidates.
  • Maintain consistent communication with candidates throughout the recruiting and hiring process to provide a professional and positive candidate experience.
  • Coordinate interviews, hiring decisions, compensation discussions, offer letters, pre-employment requirements, start dates, and other recruiting activities.
  • Assist with onboarding activities and ensure a smooth transition from candidate to employee.
  • Respond to candidate inquiries submitted through the “Contact Us” form/recruiting team email address and direct them to appropriate team members.

Compensation: $72,700 – $112,400

Rex Moore pays hourly/salary rates commensurate with each employee’s knowledge, experience and skill level.

Work environment:

Active commercial jobsite under construction performing the following:

Wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE), always including a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, work boots and high viz vest/ shirt
Working around energized equipment
Working days, night, weekends, and overtime as required
Willing and able to work in confined and/or small spaces
Constant collaboration with fellow team members
This role requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain & snow

LOCATION:

Rex Moore and affiliated offices are located throughout California and Nevada.

Reports to – Sr. Manager of Field recruiting
