Staff Manufacturing Test Engineer
You will support high-volume server manufacturing from board-level through system-level production testing. You will define, implement, validate, and optimize test strategies with ODM partners; develop test plans and infrastructure; specify fixtures and manufacturing lines; monitor yield and quality; investigate failures; and drive corrective actions through NPI, production ramp, and sustaining manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute manufacturing test strategies with ODM partners
- Develop and review ICT, MDA, board functional test, diagnostic coverage, line-flow, and failure-containment plans
- Define requirements for test stations, fixtures, test software, diagnostic content, and production infrastructure
- Deploy and validate board functional tests in ODM manufacturing environments
- Review coverage reports and improve manufacturing defect detection
- Define pass/fail criteria, test limits, data collection, retest rules, and failure-handling processes
- Support manufacturing test bring-up, debugging, and qualification during NPI and production ramp
- Deploy L10 system-level manufacturing test processes
- Port board functional tests into L10 manufacturing environments
- Specify line, station, fixture, cabling, tooling, data-capture, networking, and operator-workflow requirements
- Drive fixture validation, correlation, maintenance planning, and production readiness
- Monitor yield, failure paretos, retest rates, false failures, and escape risks
- Lead investigations into test failures, quality excursions, and yield loss
- Drive root-cause analysis, containment, corrective action, and process improvements
- Support NPI builds, pilot builds, production ramp, and sustaining manufacturing
- Communicate test readiness, risks, yield issues, and quality status
Requirements
- 8+ years of manufacturing test engineering, hardware test engineering, or production test development experience
- Experience supporting high-volume server manufacturing or comparable compute, networking, storage, or datacenter hardware
- Understanding of ICT, MDA, board functional testing, diagnostic test execution, and manufacturing defect detection
- Experience working with ODM, CM, or JDM manufacturing partners
- Hands-on experience with Linux-based test environments
- Experience with test execution, scripting, log collection, and failure triage
- Familiarity with server hardware architecture, CPUs, memory, storage, networking, BMCs, firmware, power subsystems, and high-speed interfaces
- Experience defining test fixture requirements and supporting fixture bring-up and validation
- Understanding of first-pass yield, retest rate, defect paretos, failure analysis, and corrective action
- Root-cause analysis and corrective-action experience
- Ability to review test logs and isolate hardware, firmware, software, process, or fixture issues
- Experience with Python, Bash, or other scripting languages
- Knowledge of manufacturing data systems, test-result databases, yield dashboards, and factory analytics
- Experience with NPI, EVT, DVT, PVT, pilot builds, and production ramp
- Familiarity with test coverage analysis, DFT, DFM, and manufacturing escape prevention
