Staff Software Engineer
You will own the test strategy for next-generation device drivers and platform tools. You will design, build, execute and report component, system and acceptance tests; debug issues across hardware and software layers; guide test infrastructure; validate Linux kernels, drivers and libraries; mentor engineers; document complex concepts; and drive reliability and production quality.
Responsibilities
- Own the test strategy for next-generation drivers
- Design, build, execute, and report component, system, and acceptance tests
- Debug issues using hardware and software tools, simulators, and emulators
- Guide test infrastructure and drive reliability across the stack
- Validate kernel drivers, user-space libraries, and platform tools
- Mentor engineers and raise engineering standards
- Document and explain complex technical concepts
Requirements
- Deep experience validating Linux kernels, device drivers, or similar systems software
- Strong C++ and Python test development skills
- Experience with CI/CD, build tools, and automated testing practices
- Ability to debug issues across hardware, firmware, drivers, and upper software layers
- Ownership of technical work, priorities, and delivery in an agile engineering setting
- Communication skills, including documenting and explaining complex technical concepts
- Legal right to work in the UK
