Kō wai koe / About you:

Peer Support is about using your own experience of recovery from addiction to connect with, give hope to and empower others who are in the care of the prison. You must be comfortable working with groups and be prepared to work in a kaupapa Māori way. Joining a team who are passionate about supporting tāne realize their potential, you will be mature with the right disposition to work in this highly challenging environment.

Ngā pūkenga ka whai koe/ Skills you will have:


  • Preferably a relevant level 4 qualification in health, education or Māori arts
  • A minimum of 4 years in recovery
  • Ability to facilitate group learning experiences
  • Ideally, be affiliated to mana whenua or Pasifika peoples
