Tech Ops Engineer (Overnight Support EST)
You maintain the uptime and integrity of customer systems by building and architecting reliable infrastructure. You document technical designs and training materials, monitor server hardware and software operations, manage Linux, Proxmox, and Docker deployments, scale automation with DevOps, enforce security policies, and test and troubleshoot information systems.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the uptime and integrity of customer systems
- Build and architect systems to maintain uptime
- Document technical designs and create training materials and documentation
- Monitor daily operations, including server hardware, software, and operating systems
- Manage installations, upgrades, and maintenance of Linux, Proxmox, and Docker deployments
- Work with DevOps to implement and scale automation of core tasks
- Maintain security policies and guidelines to protect data assets
- Test, troubleshoot, and modify information systems
- Collaborate with TechOps, IT staff, IT Security, and system administrators
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Expertise in system administration for Debian-based distributions
- Expertise in computer networks, hardware, support, IT security, and related tools
- Experience with cloud, bare metal, and VPS hosting environments
- Experience with databases and SQL, preferably MySQL
- Programming and scripting skills in Python, Bash, and Ansible
- Strong Linux, Proxmox, and pfSense experience
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in an organized, self-directed, and detail-oriented manner
- Passion for blockchain and cryptocurrency
- Experience with mission-critical, highly scalable systems
