Technical Delivery Manager (DevOps)

We are looking for a Technical Delivery Manager with a strong Cloud/DevOps background to lead the successful delivery of cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps and digital transformation initiatives for enterprise clients.

The ideal candidate will be a delivery-focused technology leader who can manage complex projects, lead cross-functional engineering teams, engage with senior client stakeholders, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and to the expected quality standards.

The candidate should have sufficient technical depth in Cloud, DevOps and infrastructure to understand technical challenges, facilitate engineering discussions and make informed delivery decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery Management

• Own end-to-end delivery of cloud, DevOps, infrastructure and digital transformation projects for enterprise clients.
• Drive project planning, execution, delivery milestones, dependencies, risks, issues and overall project governance.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and in line with agreed quality and business objectives.
• Manage project schedules, resource allocation, capacity planning and delivery priorities.
• Track project progress and provide regular status reporting to senior management and client stakeholders.
• Identify delivery risks and dependencies early and drive appropriate mitigation and resolution.
• Manage escalations and ensure timely resolution of delivery blockers.
• Drive continuous improvement across delivery processes, governance and ways of working.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Act as a key point of contact for clients and senior stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Translate business objectives into clear delivery plans and technical execution strategies.
• Facilitate project steering meetings, status reviews and stakeholder discussions.
• Coordinate with vendors and third-party technology partners to ensure delivery commitments are met.

Technical Delivery Oversight

• Provide technical oversight for Cloud, DevOps, infrastructure and platform engineering initiatives.
• Work closely with DevOps, Cloud, Infrastructure, Architecture, Development, QA and Operations teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Understand cloud-native architectures, CI/CD, Kubernetes, infrastructure automation and platform engineering sufficiently to challenge, guide and govern technical delivery.
• Facilitate technical discussions and support teams in resolving delivery-related technical dependencies and blockers.
• Review high-level technical approaches and ensure alignment with project objectives, security requirements and enterprise standards.
• Oversee environment readiness across Dev, SIT, UAT, Pre-Prod and Production.
• Ensure production readiness, release governance and operational handover are completed effectively.
• Support cloud migration, infrastructure modernization and DevOps transformation initiatives from a delivery perspective.

Agile & Release Management

• Drive Agile delivery practices including sprint planning, backlog prioritization, delivery tracking and retrospectives.
• Coordinate release planning and ensure dependencies across engineering, QA, infrastructure and operations teams are managed.
• Govern SIT, UAT, production readiness and release activities.
• Ensure effective transition from project delivery into production support and operations.
• Governance & Operational Excellence
• Establish and maintain delivery governance, reporting and project controls.
• Ensure appropriate management of risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies and decisions.
• Work with technical teams to ensure security, compliance, disaster recovery, business continuity and operational requirements are incorporated into delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes, engineering collaboration and operational readiness.

Prerequisites

• 10+ years of experience in technology delivery, technical project/program management, infrastructure, cloud, DevOps or related technology environments.
• Proven experience managing end-to-end delivery of complex technology projects or programs.
• Strong experience managing enterprise clients and senior stakeholders.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams involving Engineering, DevOps, Cloud, Infrastructure, Architecture, QA and Operations.
• Strong project governance, risk management, dependency management and delivery planning experience.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies and release management.
• Strong technical understanding of AWS Cloud, DevOps, Kubernetes and CI/CD environments.
• Previous experience in a DevOps, Cloud, Infrastructure, SRE, Platform Engineering or similar technical role is highly desirable.
• Ability to understand technical architecture and DevOps challenges and translate them into delivery plans and business outcomes.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, negotiation and escalation management skills.
• Experience delivering enterprise solutions within banking, financial services, fintech, capital markets or other regulated environments is preferred.
